Join the Alabama Sports Car Club of America for a great Saturday drive on nice, back country roads to Cartersville, Georgia, touring the Savoy Automobile Museum. If you’re not familiar with The Savoy, have a look here:
The Savoy is a premier destination for car enthusiasts world-wide, with ever-changing exhibitions of beautiful cars and car history. ALSCCA will be hosted by The Savoy as a group on Saturday, March 28th, and will offer one or more private tours during our visit. Two special exhibitions will be on display that day, “Hoods Up! - Ferrari in America” and “Cars and Music”.
The drive will be conducted as a regular SCCA Road Rally Trek, no competition or timing along the route, just follow-the-leader in one or more groups of cars. The event is what SCCA is all about – “fun with cars!”, enjoying cars and the day with fellow car enthusiasts. Some will bring sports cars with tops down for the drive, some will bring minivans with the whole family – does not matter. Each car will be given a set of route instructions at the start, so you are welcome to separate from the group during the drive if you prefer, but in that case, SCCA rules require at least one other person in your car to act as navigator for safety.
The group will meet at Buc-ee’s in Leeds, AL at 8:00 am, grab snacks and fuel for the drive, and depart approximately 8:30 am, touring interesting backroads through East Alabama and West Georgia. The drive is expected to take about 3 hours, with a mid-point break. The group will have lunch in the Café at The Savoy upon arrival, and our guided tour will start at 1:30 pm Eastern. Expect the Savoy visit to last 1-3 hours, including lunch (up to you). Everyone will drive back home on their own, following their preferred route.
Event requirements
Follow instructions below to sign up and enter your payment details. You must register in advance. No walk-up registrations will be accepted. Minor waivers (under 19 in Alabama) must be completed before the event, see SCCA.com for instructions. The process takes a bit of time, but doesn't have a cost, and is valid for a year.
